For three seasons the Triangle Park Chapter of The Links, Incorporated have donated funds to support United Strings of Color. These funds have been used for participant instrument expenses, the Instrument Zoo Project, and coaching fees.
The North Carolina
Museum of Art
The North Carolina Museum of Art has been a strong community partner of USC since 2020. The NCMA has championed our young musician's
performances during the Holidays, in Pop-Up Chamber events in the Ann and Jim Goodnight Museum Park, and for the premiere of Ijapa and Mr. Igbin. United Strings of Color musicians have been showcased at the museum for Art in Bloom, the 75th Anniversary Celebration, and The People's Collection Reimagined Block Party. Moses T. Alexander Greene, Director of Performing Arts and Film, has been our special advocate. The Museum will be hosting the premiere of our program Conversations Between Four Black Abolitionist Music Makers on 2/1/2024.
My Brothers and Sisters Keeper of Wake County
MBK Wake welcomed United Strings of Color with open arms and helped spread the word through a pro-bono promotional video.
African American
Cultural Festival
The African American Cultural Festival was the first outside organization to ask United Strings of Color to perform, early in our history. They have asked USC to perform every year the Festival has been held ever since.
Thrivent Financial
Thrivent awarded United Strings of Color an Action Team Grant to support our Brendan Slocumb Workshop.
Arts and Crafts Festival
Lazy Daze
In 2023, the Town of Cary's Lazy Daze Festivals Committee has recommended support for United Strings of Color Music Discovery Programs in the two Regional Libraries in Cary. In 2024 they supported a performance for Black History in the Cary Arts Center.
Triangle Aphasia
Project, LLC
Triangle Aphasia Project, LLC is kindly hosting United Strings of Color rehearsals in their office.
Chamber Music Raleigh
Chamber Music Raleigh has provided opportunities for United Strings of Color to be coached by professional chamber music musicians during master classes.
Law Offices of
John Eluwa, PLLC
The Law Offices of John Eluwa sponsored the first public performance by the United Strings of Color Intermediate Group in the Cary Arts Center.
United Arts of Raleigh and Wake County
